Practice included representation in complex civil litigation proceedings, alternative dispute resolution advocacy and neutral work, and the provision of day-to-day legal advice to individuals and a variety of business clients, including financial institutions, manufacturers, developers, contractors, fiduciaries, corporate directors and officers, property managers, multi-media companies and others.

ADR Experience

Approximately twenty-one years of service as an arbitrator, mediator and facilitator. Has provided alternative dispute resolution services in connection with hundreds of business and personal disputes involving a wide variety of substantive issues, including real property matters, contracts, title insurance, lender liability, life insurance, employment issues, intellectual property rights, trade secrets, environmental claims, partnership dissolutions, securities, construction, product liability, trusts, ADA access, and many other areas where conflict has arisen.

ADR Training

As an American Arbitration Association (AAA) panelist, has undergone required AAA continuing education over the course of twenty years; Most recent AAA required training completed in March 2002; Completed and received a certificate for a 40-hour mediator training program given by the John Paul Jones Group in 1999; attended numerous individual arbitrator and mediator advanced training programs.

Training & Teaching Experience

Designed and conducted corporate training for Manufacturers Hanover Bank from 1967-1969; conceived and created audiovisual training programs for businesses and professional groups from 1969-1975; created and presented in-house training programs for staff lawyers and clients while serving as Head of Litigation for Union Bank, and, thereafter, for client and professional groups; instructed classes in Legal Research and Writing through St. Mary's Paralegal Program in Moraga, California; frequent speaker and panelist on ADR-related issues and other legal topics.
